| "[I wanted to] let you know the fastest 2rotor mazda in the world uses your seals, it ran 7.31 189mph Fernando Fernandez "The seals that have been provided by Hurley have been outstanding in quality and durability. The cars we have used the seals in have ALWAYS started quicker after a rebuild and idled much smoother than even stock apex seals. We have also experianced the durability. A customer with a 3rd gen running a hybrid turbo, 3mm apex seals and a Apexi power fc decided to try and tune his own motor. He was doing a fairly good job. He brought the car to me for a dyno session and during the horsepower run I felt a rich miss starting and lifted my foot! He asked why I did it,there was plenty of fuel. I informed him that I heard the tell-tale exhaust gurgle and drumming sound and that is a rich miss and is somtimes worse than a lean one.He insisted I do one more pull. The car pulled fine at first and then fell flat on its face. We looked a what was data logged and sure enough he was too rich. I told him he NEEDED to lean out a bit or damage was sure to come. 2 weeks later he came back and the car did not idle smooth.
Chris Greene - Checkpoint Engineering (Affiliate Program Member) "[...]We are achieving wonderful results with the 3mm racing tip seals, duplex side seals and corner seals. Some of our racers in South Africa are running 29 PSI boost (2 bar) using up to 11 000 rpm in the lower gears without any reliability problems. I must add that they are running top of the range MSD ignition systems and advanced engine management systems as well as very high octane fuels. Where there has been problems it has always been related to timing, spark or fuel issues. The engines that are set up right are consistently running great times and have proven extremely reliable. Thank you for your fantastic products - Hurley seals has brought about a rejuvenation of the Rotary performance market in South Africa!" Tjaart Kruger - ERP CC (South Africa) Hello: Thank you for your excellent service, I recieved the seals today (thursday) , they look great. I have heard a lot of great things about your seals. Thank you again Juan Delgado merry christamas from the united states of america, new york city!!! well i am a very happy customer and would like to remind you how well your racing tip seals are working in my 13b gsl-se motor (3mm seals ) .. I am ready to purchase some quantity (of seals) ALEX MILLERY My name is Angel Morales and I am the technical director of Rotary Motorsports, a race car team from Panama Central America that campaings a 1987 RX-7 Turbo II in an "improved touring" category. We are already a Hurley customer since we race with your 1-piece 3 mm tips. We are interested in a Hurley Custom Built 13BT capable of withstanding 500-600 HP for road racing. We have a very well set up Haltech engine management system and a Turbonetics turbo (60-1 with 1.15 A/R turbine) capable of keeping up with these goals. Our current motor is being raced with your 3mm tips and 10-15 of boost with much success. We´d like a really strong motor capable of short burst of up to 22 psi or so. How much such an engine would cost shipped to Spain? (we import containers from Spain every month). You migh remember me because last August I sent you a picture (attached to this message) about a broken Hurley rotor tip on 10 psi. . . I called you over the phone and you explained to me that it was impossible in normal conditions, and that we must have had an intolerable level of detonation. I then bought a tip from you to put the engine back together. Weeks later I found a problem in the ignition system that could have caused the detonation problem. I am very happy to let you know that we are currently points leaders in the championship with the same motor that broke the Hurley rotor tip last August! ! ! ! ! We put it back together with the rotor tip you sent us and ran quite poorly in the beginning (housings and faces not perfect), but since then it has been getting stronger and stronger! Now it´s time to move on to a complete Hurley motor! Angel Morales Hi Eamon cheers for the reply and the 10% discount offer seems my mates got in quicker than i thought as all three of us have our engines going together as i write this. actually one of us has cracked 2 end plates in 2 different motors at 30psi. your seals are still intact and are being used in his latest 13b now being retuned at 35psi!!! the problem at 30psi turned out to be spark. it was getting blown out by the savage boost pressure using the bosch coils that come with the microtech. to remedy this we fitted a set of ignition boosters and the problem was gone. as no one has tuned such a thing here in perth he flew an expert over from melbourne, victoria to fire it up on the dyno. In an rx3 coupe with four link rear and 100 shot of nos it broke the retaining straps on the dyno hopefully i can get the footage online soon) and we still dont hav final power figures. the old setup with a t78 turbo ran a 10.52 at 20psi so now with hurleys, nos, rear end and a monster snail 9s should be happening soon..... John I have been using your tip seals for the last few years and it has given me great performance i use your double tip seals and i can't wait to use your side seals and also your corner seals.Your seals have given me new 1/4 mile records here in California. thanks [Anonymous] Adam Burgess here from Buzz Engines.com in Brisbane Australia, just to refresh your memory I was speaking to you about the different seals you have available. I am a new business selling performance parts online to customers around Australia and I am looking to expand to New Zealand and Japan in the near future. I am very interested in selling and promoting your products as I have heard many goods things about them from different people including Jeff McCall at Rotary Power in the USA and have also used them myself. Adam Burgess I have a rx7 13b turbo that I am rebuilding and am wonderinf what stuff I should go with. I have looked at countless websites (racing beat, mazdatrix, mazfix, rx7.com, etc.) and stumbled upon you guys. After viewing the web site I have decided that you guys are who I will be buying my parts from. You are both practical and innovative with ways to improve upon this miracle engine. Kris Steinke [..] we have used (Hurley tip seals) before with good result in a race car that is total winner and class winner in Nordic Thundercar (Super saloon). This car won against cars like 580hk Porsche,600hk+ Lotus,700hk Camaro,650hk Corvette and only with a peripheral ported 13B with fuel injection. In Sweden people send there engines to me for make a rebuild or upgrade. Jörgen Blennow May we also draw your attention to the recent article in the December issue of Turbo and High-Tech Performance magazine in which we are mentioned. | ||
